This article covers how to use Authy on your Mac.
Important: Make sure the default Date & Time setting for your Mac is Set date and time automatically. You may need administration rights to change the date and time settings of your Mac. |

Install Authy App
First, you need to download and install the Mac version of Authy:

Note: Download from the Desktop section of the Authy download page.
Once Authy is installed, you can then set up two-factor authentication.
Go to:
Manually Enter a Time-Based Key
- Open Authy.
- Select the Tokens tab at the bottom of the screen.
- If you haven't added any previous accounts, you will see a message with a + icon.
Select the + icon.
If you have other 2FA accounts set up already, select the + icon at the top right of the screen.
- In the Enter Code given by website field, enter the 16-character time-based key, or paste the time-based key from CloudPayroll, and select Add Account.
Note: The time-based key is under the QR code in CloudPayroll. In CloudPayroll, select I can't scan the QR code to display the time-based key.
- In the Account Name field, enter your account name (for example, your CloudPayroll username).
- Select a logo for your account.
- Make sure the Token length is set to 6-digit.
- Select Save.
Authy has added the account. Select the account to display the 6-digit verification code. The verification code updates every 30 seconds.
Note: Authy shows how many seconds are left before the code expires. If you don't have time to enter and confirm the code, as there are not many seconds left, wait until the code refreshes and use the latest code.
Note: Authy displays multiple 2FA accounts as tabs at the bottom of the screen, or as a list depending on whether you have grid or list set.
Note: If you have your accounts displayed in the list format, select the account to display the latest code. If you have your accounts displayed in grid format, select the account you require to change the details to that account.
Tip: Select the Copy icon to copy the code.
Remove an Account
- Open Authy.
- Select the Settings tab at the bottom of the screen.
- Select Accounts.
- Select the account you want to delete.
- Select Delete.
Authy displays a message advising the account is marked for deletion and will be deleted in 48 hours. - Select Save.
Authy removes the account 48 hours later.
Note: The account is not deleted for 48 hours, so you can reinstate the account by selecting Undelete.
